BREAKING NEWS! After working closely with RA-AUS, CASA airworthiness delegates and the @pipistrelaircraft design and engineering team, FlyOnE have been able to have the Certificate of Airworthiness in Australia for the Pipistrel Alpha Electro upgraded from 550kg MTOW (Maximum take off weight) to 570kg MTOW.This now gives it the highest usable payload capacity (av. 190kg) at full fuel weight in the LSA class of any Petrol or electric aircraft that we know of. What CASA thinks about Electric Aviation in Australia
We had the pleasure (and privilege) of hosting the Civil Aviation Safety Authority board members for a tour of the hangar of FlyOnE flight school partner Cloud Dancer Pilot Training where we keep our demonstrator Pipistrel Aircraft Alpha Electro electric aircraft, as well as tour of the facility of our technology development partner Electro.Aero Pty Ltd.CASA has been amazingly supportive of electric aviation in Australia and was one of the first governing bodies in the world to enable electric aviation with the first certificate of Airworthiness issued for a Pipistrel Alpha Electro in 2018 with the help of Recreational Aviation Australia.It was awesome to have the board members come by for a fly and to better understand the technologies FlyOnE are advancing for energy supply and the aircraft FlyOnE are importing to help decarbonise aviation in Australia.
