Decarbonised Air taxi and Pilot training

Decarbonised air-taxi flight training for your sustainable aviation future.
FlyOnE is now enabling carbon-offset Air taxi services in Perth and surrounding areas in partnership with Rottnest Air Taxi on our Lilypad Elevate network of Air Taxi Services. For every flight booked, FlyOnE will plant trees offsetting a total of 2 tonnes of Co2.The flight itself, represents a carbon emission of only 96KG per hour of flight, so your Carbon Offset contribution for every booking ensures there is a notable offset assisting our sustainable future that goes far beyond the emissions from the flight itself.

FlyOnE Flight school partners are focused on a sustainable aviation future for their members and guests. Aviation is in a transitional stage where fully zero emissions aircraft like the Pipistrel range of electric aircraft don't yet suit all operational requirements in a flight school. As such, we are helping our flight school partners and owners of low-emissions aircraft decarbonise in partnership with Carbon Neutral by planting enough trees to offset the carbon emissions of their low-emissions trainer aircraft. Download the factsheet here. We use the following formula to establish the number of trees to be planted to offset your low emissions (non Leaded fuel) aircraft for 10 years (based on a 100 year average lifespan of a tree).
First, the emissions per year are calculated...
Flight hours per year x (L of Fuel per hour x kg/CO2 per L) = CO2 Emissions per year
Where CO2 emissions per L of Unleaded pump fuel are 2.31Kg Per L and Fuel weighs .78 kg per L. Then, the amount of trees required to offset this amount is calculated...
+CO2 Emissions per year /-CO2 per tree x {.1} = Quantity of Trees required
Where CO2 absorption per tree per year is 21kg per year and {.1} is the average life of a tree (100 years)/10 = Carbon offsets per decade The below flight schools have decarbonised their non-electric aircraft with carbon offsets based on the above equation.

Rottnest Air Taxi

Rottnest Island, Western Australia
Rottnest Air Taxi has decarbonised its legacy aircraft fleet with 100x offsetting via reforestation projects. For every KG of CO2 emitted, 100 are locked away in long term ecosystem development growth.
Rottnest air taxi uses 2 x Cessna 172 and 2 x Piper Cherokee 6 aircraft Flight hours per year - 600 Carbon emissions per year - 102 tonnes Rottnest island is decarbonising operations 100x by planting approx. 500 trees per annum (growing with increase of business operations). 500 trees locks away 1050 tonnes of C02 per 100 years, providing over a decade of carbon offsets for the fleets current operational emissions.

CLoud Dancer PIlot Training

Jandakot, Western Australia
Cloud Dancer Pilot training in Jandakot, Western Australia was the first ever flight school IN THE WORLD to electrify and adopt a Pipistrel Alpha Electro electric trainer aircraft as a part of their pilot training operations. Since then Cloud Dancer Pilot Training has expanded to use multiple electric aircraft in flight training operations across multiple airports to complement their traditional internal combustion aircraft flight training operations.

CLoud Dancer Pilot Training DEcarbonised

Sportstar Harmony Evektor
The Sportstar Harmony Evektor is a Rotax powered aircraft running on unleaded pump fuel. It consumes an average of 15L of fuel per hour during normal operation. Flight hours per year - 1200 Carbon emissions per year - 41,580kg Cloud Dancer Pilot training has decarbonised this aircraft for a decade by offsetting the emissions with 200 trees. 200 trees locks away 420,000kg of C02 per 100 years, providing over a decade of carbon offsets for this aircraft's operational emissions.
