Smartflyer relies on hybrid technology that cleverly combines the electric motor and combustion engine. In the serial hybrid powertrain, there is no direct mechanical connection from the combustion engine to the propeller. The range extender, which is a combustion engine driving a generator, recharges he batteries during the flight. The range extender module in the nose of the aircraft can be quickly replaced by other energy sources. You can switch from battery operation to range extender in just 15 minutes – without any special knowledge.
